Scuba Diving on Carriacou
Many people are finding that Carriacou, Grenada is where some of the best Caribbean diving can be found. In fact, we think it is THE tropical dive destination for scuba divers.
You may be new to diving and wish to take a lesson or achieve certification, or you could be an experienced diver – Grenada and Carriacou has over thirty dive sites, with varying levels of difficulty, for divers to explore.
You’ll see sharks, turtles, stingrays, huge schools of tropical fish, coral and lobsters. It’s teaming with marine life!

Scuba Diving on Carriacou for Beginners and Experienced Divers
Divers Surprise · Sandy Island
The reef slopes from 20ft to 75ft (7m to 23m) and is quite steep. A great dive site for watching the reef life which includes crabs, moray eels, arracuda, flamingo tongues, snapper, lobsters and crabs. The site is suitable for beginners but be aware there is sometimes a small current. Although great for beginners, experienced divers will also be delighted with this site. A great location for underwater photos.
Magic Garden · Mabouya Island
A gentle dive slope of 23ft to 66ft (8m to 20m). This site allows you to see bubbles as they rise from gentle underwater volcanic activity. There is sometimes a slight current here and will make this dive suitable for beginners and experienced divers. There are good underwater photo opportunities to be had here with a tiny underwater wreck of a small boat leading to a rock garden made up of large boulders. Sea-life will include moray eels, stingray, lobsters and nurse sharks.
Sharky’s Hideaway · Mabouya Island
The reef slopes from 23ft to 75ft (8m to 23m). Experience this underwater landscape with rock garden with canons. Expect to see Nurse Sharks, Giant Morays, Porcupine Fish and Angel Fish.
Western Adventure
The reef slopes to a depth 75ft (23m). Experience the spectacular sites of shrimps, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays and French Angel Fish.
World of Dreams
The reef slopes from 23ft to 72ft (8m to 22m). Stingrays, Angel Fish, Giant soft Corals and Porcupine Fish are found on this reef.
Scuba Diving on Carriacou for Experienced Divers
Barracuda Point
Reef top is 27ft and slope and wall is at 75ft (9m to 23m). See barracudas cruising and drift along coral gardens. More information on this Carriacou dive site.
Deep Blue
The reef slopes from 27ft to 130ft (9m to 40m). Expect to see Green Morays, Turtles, Eagle Rays, Sting Rays, Nurse Sharks and spectacular rock formation
Twin Tugs
Both Twin Tugs wrecks are about 95 feet (28 metres) long and the keels at a depth of about 95 feet (28 metres). The “Westsider” was officially sunk in September 2004 and the “Boris” was officially sunk in September 2007. Great Wreck-Diving: Explore either each one of the wrecks individually or both in one dive! Look out for barracudas and angle-fish as well as lobsters and muray-eels!
